At Guilford Athletic Center, our Women’s Only Self-Defense Class blends functional fitness, situational awareness, and practical techniques to help you stay safe and feel strong in everyday life.

Led by experienced instructors, each session focuses on real-world defense strategies that anyone can use—no experience required. You’ll learn how to identify threats, break free from holds, and use your body’s natural strength to protect yourself, all in a supportive, all-female environment.

Every class is designed to help you:

  • Build strength, coordination, and confidence

  • Learn effective self-defense techniques for real-life situations

  • Improve situational awareness and reaction time

  • Reduce stress while developing physical and mental resilience

  • Train alongside empowering women in a positive, judgment-free space

Our Women’s Self-Defense Classes are held once a month, with schedules announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Our FAQ'S

Contracts are Monthly and there is a 30 day cancellation policy. If you cancel mid-month, you will be charged again on the next billing cycle. You may still use your membership during the course of that time.

To schedule an individual training session, call us direct 203-530-1725 and we’ll discuss your needs, goals and pair you with a trainer that fits your needs best.

The bathrooms are cleaned daily and you’re welcome to spray down the shower prior to your use. We recommend wearing shower shoes and bringing your own soap and towels.

We have a filter system where you can fill your own bottle (cold or hot water) plus a Pro Shop were you can buy water bottles, apparel, THORNE supplements, energy and recovery drinks. If we suspect someone is having a sugar crash, we do have free protein bars to help.

Rent Space

Our facility is available for rent to Personal Trainers and Coaches who would like to do one-on-one training with their clients. Arrangements can be made to accommodate larger group training needs. Please email Coach Clint for details: clint@guilfordtrainingcenter.com

Must provide proof of insurance and licensure or certification.

All coaches, trainers and their clients will be required to sign waivers under Guilford Athletic Center, LLC.
